Wormburner- New Wax Off Artist and In-Studio KEXP session 12-9-10
Wax Off Records is proud to announce Wormburner as the latest addition to the Wax Off family. An anthemic rock band from NYC, Wormburner features vocals by Steve Henry – reminiscent of the narrative styling of the Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle. Combined with musical energy not unlike that of the Hold Steady, their intense live performances are akin to a ride on a Red Bull-sponsored rocket. When they launch, hopefully you’re lucky enough to be in the room for the ride.
Speaking of live performances – after being honored by Seattle independent radio station KEXP with their Song of the Day on October 11th, Wormburner takes it to the next level with a special in-studio performance for the station. It will air on KEXP’s NYC satellite station, WNYE 91.5 FM Radio New York, on the December 9th installment of their Thursday night program To The Five Boroughs. It’s your chance to hear a few songs performed live in-studio and an interview with the band about their current projects. Video will also be taken of the performance and you’ll be able to stream it from www.kexp.org as well.
Check back here for listening information as we get closer to air date – as well as at Wormburner’s website www.wormburnerband.com. You can also follow us on twitter @waxoffrecords and Wormburner @wormburnerband for all the details as they become available.
Don’t walk. Run and tell your friends and family because this is going to be good. Hell, even your enemies should probably know about this….
